    Who is Jacob Rosenblum?

    I am a proud father of two children who currently attend Skyline Elementary, where I have been an active member of the PTO for the past three years. I regularly volunteer with after school clubs, giving me the opportunity to connect with students and families in our community. For the past four years, I have also coached my kids’ Red Lions soccer teams, an experience that has deepened my commitment to supporting youth development both in and out of the classroom. Professionally, I am a software developer and I work from home.

    I’m running for school board because I believe in helping our community do more with less. I bring a positive solutions-oriented mindset and the willingness to tackle any challenge. With my engineering and science background, I approach decisions with a discerning eye, carefully evaluating multiple options to ensure we use our resources wisely and choose the best path forward.

    I also speak Spanish, a skill I developed through the Portland Public Schools’ Spanish Immersion program I was fortunate to attend growing up. That experience opened doors for me at a young age, and I believe more students should have the opportunity to develop language skills that can serve them for a lifetime.

    Committed to Students

    Art and Music Enrich Lives

    I will work to ensure that students have meaningful opportunities to explore their interests through subjects that inspire creativity and self-expression. For some, the chance to engage in the arts is a source of joy; for others, it can be a lifeline. I will be a strong advocate for maintaining and expanding art and music programs in our schools.

    Language Learning Opens Doors

    I will advocate for the implementation of a Dual Language English/Spanish Immersion Program, giving students the option to spend half their day learning in English and half in Spanish. Language learning not only strengthens communication skills but also fosters cultural understanding and prepares students for a global future.

    Nutritious Meals Support Learning

    I will advocate for updated and nutritional meals that are free for all students. Healthy eating is vital to student success. Our schools have an important role in helping students establish positive lifelong habits. By offering diverse, nutritious options—including those that meet the needs of vegetarian students for personal, cultural, or religious reasons—we can ensure every child feels respected and supported.
